Rewrite for Clarity, Keep My Voice
Ask an AI to 'improve' your text and it often comes back longer and bland. This prompt keeps your meaning and voice and only cuts and clarifies.
Works with Claude, ChatGPT and Gemini2 fields
Edit this text for customers in a product update email: """ We are super excited to announce that we have basically completely redone the onboarding so that it is way more easy to get started for new users. """ Make it shorter and clearer. Keep my meaning, my facts and my tone of voice. Do not add new claims, hype words or emoji. Prefer short sentences and common words. Return the edited text, then a list of the main changes in one line each.
Everything you type stays in your browser. Remove passwords, keys and personal data before pasting anything into an AI tool.
Why this prompt is written this way
- Keep the voice. Saying 'my tone of voice' stops the model from replacing your style with its own.
- No new claims. Edits should not add promises you didn't make.
- Change list. You can accept or reject each change instead of trusting the whole rewrite.
Example answer
Illustrative and shortened, to show the shape of a good answer. Real answers vary by model.
We've rebuilt onboarding so new users can get started faster. Changes: removed 'super excited' and 'basically'; 'way more easy' became 'faster'.
Tips
- Give the audience; an email and a technical doc need different edits.
- Paste a paragraph you wrote and like, and say 'match this style'.
How to use it
- Replace the example values with your own. The prompt on the right updates as you type.
- Press Copy prompt and paste it into any AI chat, or open it straight in Claude or ChatGPT.
- Save it as prompt.md if you want to reuse it.
